TEEN Thursday Hosted by Shelby Sharp "It's Not You, But What God Can Do Through You."

Hey Teen Team!'m a 15 year old Jesus freak and I'm here to host Teen Thursday.

I'm back again with a brand new " Hot Topic", questions, funny video clip and a poll.

I know we will have a good time.

Let's get to know Jesus better. You and me.

Verse of the Week: Phillippians 1:6 "God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again."

THIS WEEKS "HOT TOPIC"

Chang was a high-powered investment accounts manager for a bank.  People at his church figured he was a slam dunk for budget committee.  "He knows how to manage money, " they reasoned.  Not much later Chang joined the committee.
Chang was disaster.  His smarts and money management turned out to be a gross weakness.  Relying on his financial training, he saw every church expenditure in terms of " the bottom line".  If a church program did not show a profit growth in numbers of people reached or dollars raised- he argured to ax it.  After a blunt but kind discussion with his pastor, Chang left the committee.
As Chang grew in faith, and let the Holy Spirit control his life, he had a new idea - that he'd like to volunteer in the junior-high ministry.  But he cared for kids that came from non-christian homes.  His wife Nikki felt the same burden.
Chang and Nikki prayed- alot.  Then they met with the youth pastor.  " We don't know much about youth work," they confessed, "but we love these kids and want to learn.  If you can use us, we're available."  It turned out that kids flocked to Chang and Nikki because they felt genuinely loved and accepted by them.  And that  group has kept growing because of chang and Nikki's willlingness to let the Holy Spirit lead them someplace they never expected to go.
Big Holy Spirit lesson:  When you allow the Spirit to empower your life and tell God you are willing to serve whereever he wants, you might be surprised where he plunks you.  god knows best how to make your competent, and he knows best where you'll fit.  Chang's story is a prime example of how to let God lead you.
Like everyone else, you have limitations.  Chang and Nikki - and youth leaders you know -  don't do ministry perfectly.   But we when you look at the people God uses, you notice that their real power comes from submitting to the Holy Spirit and asking God to equip them for ministry.  Like Chang found out, being an "expert" in an area gets in the way.
God isn't limited by your age, weaknesses, or your lack of experiences.  Whoever you are and where ever you are in your Christian growth, you're most useful to God if you let His Spirit empower you daily.  Just watch what he can do through you when you give His Spirit control!

SO LET'S CHAT

What bold new things do you think God would like to do through you?  Pray and ask God to lead you where ever He wants you to go.

Start your comments.............NOW!

Also feel free to share any prayer requests with all of us. We need to be prayer warriors for each other.

If you have a hard time with getting a "profile" to publish your comment you can #1 set up a Google account..which is just your email addy and your password. It just allows you to have a profile to comment..nothing more. #2 you can choose to the "name/URL" profile. All you need is , again, your email addy, and a URL. You can get a URL by going to YOUR Profile page on Facebook...copy and paste the URL found at the top of the page...the "http:// blah blah blah...." and put that in where it asks for "URL". You will have to do that every time though, where getting a Google account will only be once..and it will recognize you every time.

Don't forget to come back and check out all the comments. There is also a CONTEST going on. The contest is to see if we, the TEENS, can get more comments on THIS post than the adults got on any of theirs.  We won last week!  YEA!!!  Can we do it again.

LAUGH TILL MILK SHOOTS OUT YOUR NOSE

Funny video..he cracks me up. I love the devo this week...man another place I struggle. I am not very bold...and the thought of God having me do stuff I am scared about..or out of my CZ (comfort zone) makes me nervous.

I'm not bold either...I barely talk to people at my Youth Group, and when I try, my throat closes up on me. How could God use that? Someone said That I might be able to be a light. You know, show people and stuff. I'm also doing Christian Anime, so I hope that helps glorify God too. I wish I could tell people about him using my voice.
